Profiles of dark-matter haloes at high redshift

چکیده
I study the evolution of haloes density profiles as a function of time in the SCDM and ΛCDM cosmologies. Following Del Popolo et al. (1999), I calculate the concentration parameter c = rv/a and study its time evolution. For a given halo mass, I find that c(z) ∝ 1/(1 + z) both in the ΛCDM and SCDM cosmology, in agreement with Bullock et al. (1999) analytic model and N-body simulations. In both models, a(z) is roughly constant. The present model predicts a stronger evolution of c(z) with respect to Navarro et al. (1997) (hereafter NFW97) model. Finally I show some consequences of the result on galaxy modelling.

On the Origin of Dark Matter Cores in Dwarf Galaxies
In this paper, we study the dynamical stability and time evolution of the central dark matter cores of low-mass (about 10 − 109M⊙) galactic haloes found in recent cold dark matter simulations at high redshift. From those simulations we extract three haloes, assembled by hierarchical merging, that at redshift z > ∼ 10 display a core and we evolve them without further merging to low redshift usin...
متن کاملSecondary infall and dark matter haloes
We test the Secondary Infall Model (SIM) by direct comparison with the results of Nbody simulations. Eight cluster-size and six galactic-size dark matter haloes have been selected at z = 0 and re-simulated with high resolution. Based on their density profiles at the initial redshift, we compute their evolution by the SIM, assuming a simple prescription for the angular momentum. A comparison of ...
متن کاملThe dynamical structure of dark matter haloes
Thanks to the ever increasing computational power and the development of more sophisticated algorithms, numerical N -body simulations are now uncovering several phenomenological relations between the physical properties of dark matter haloes in position and velocity space. It is the aim of the present work to investigate in detail the dynamical structure of dark matter haloes, as well as its po...
متن کاملCitation for published version: Sebastien Peirani, ‘Density profile of dark matter haloes and galaxies in the HORIZON–AGN simulation: the impact of AGN
Using a suite of three large cosmological hydrodynamical simulations, HORIZON–AGN, HORIZON–NOAGN (no AGN feedback) and HORIZON–DM (no baryons), we investigate how a typical sub-grid model for AGN feedback affects the evolution of the inner density profiles of massive dark matter haloes and galaxies. Based on direct object-to-object comparisons, we find that the integrated inner mass and density...
متن کاملReconstructing the cosmic density field with the distribution of dark matter halos
We develop a new method to reconstruct the cosmic density field from the distribution of dark matter haloes above a certain mass threshold. Our motivation is that well-defined samples of galaxy groups/clusters, which can be used to represent the dark halo population, can now be selected from large redshift surveys of galaxies, and our ultimate goal is to use such data to reconstruct the cosmic ...
متن کاملThe abundance and clustering of dark haloes in the standard ΛCDM cosmogony
Much evidence suggests that we live in a flat Cold Dark Matter universe with a cosmological constant. Accurate analytic formulae are now available for many properties of the dark halo population in such a Universe. Assuming current “concordance” values for the cosmological parameters, we plot halo abundance against redshift as a function of halo mass, of halo temperature, of the fraction of cos...
